Bannockburn English (Dark) Side
Available only with complete set

Edward Plantagenet, Hammer of the Scots King Edward Longshanks died several years before the Battle of Bannockburn , but the Bannockburn chess set would not be complete without him. Once a close friend of Robert the Bruce, it was he, more than any one individual, whose cruel and savage actions ensured and stoked the hatred of the Scots.

Decades of tyranny against a nation which refused to surrender to his plans for one united nation - England- created the impetus which finally brought the sides to confrontation in 1314. That Bannockburn was not his final confrontation with Bruce was no more than a trick of nature and it is fitting that he, rather than his weak and ineffective son, should grace the board
