When you select gifts for folk, it’s obviously a good idea to check the type of celebration it’s for.  Birthdays can be a bit tricky,  some women, my mother included, won’t entertain the idea of any household or domesti article being given to her as a present.  So no fancy all singing, all dancing colour matched waste containers or bread bins for her.  She is the same with Christmas – nothing as boring as a kitchen aid is allowed on the list – hers have to be feminine stuff like favourite perfumes, silky nightware, difficult to source chocolates.   This is where one or two of the specialist giftware sites come in to their own.  I recently scored a massive success with a grandson’s present which I just happened to find whilst browsning – having reached the end of my tether.  Going for small personalised items is fun for a teen, they like feeling special amongst their peers!
