I have a young relative who has set up home with her partner – using the bank of mum and dad to get on that mortgage ladder.  There is so much to be acquired when setting up home together for the first time.  Although they both had gear left over from university, most of that had definitely had a hard but remarkably short existence!

They bought brand new, one of several hundred homes replacing an old industrial site.  The house is well designed as a starter home.  The rooms flow well and they developer has made the best use of every square inch of space.   The garden is tiny, but they have had it transformed into a paradise of tiered vegetable and salad growth.   They adopted a budget friendly strategy for all their purchases – browsing and comparing online review sites before buying anything at all and they get some fantastic original ideas, not found in those mega outlets.
